Warsaw is Poland’s capital and the largest city in the country. It is a great place for walking, exploring, and picture taking at night.
Over 85% of Warsaw’s buildings were destroyed in the Second World War, as depicted movingly in the Roman Polanski film The Pianist (2002). The rebuilding of the city continued until the mid-1960s. Today, Warsaw is one of the most dynamic capitals in Europe, full of attractive skyscrapers and other modern buildings.
